Final Post

I think evolution was the main concept of biology 11. We learned how all living things have evolved over time to adapt to their environment. We learnt what made an organism the most evolved and what what made an organism the least evolved. We learnt a lot of information about a lot of different living things & how they reproduce and function but all of that revolves around how the living thing has evolved over time. One thing I would have done better in biology 11 is done my homework because some days when we did homework quizzes I didn't do my homework and I didn't do well on the quiz. The most interesting thing I did in biology this year was the dissections from the flat worms to the rat dissection. It showed me how much a living thing can evolve from being non-vertebrate to being a vertebrate.

Aquarium Field Trip

This is a picture of a clown fish I saw at the aquarium. It's kingdom is animalia & it's class is fishes. A distinguishing characteristic that makes it similar to other fish is it's gills. The gills are located under the fins on the sides of the clown fish. All clown fish are orange with white and black stripes running vertically down its body.

Arthropoda

Three characteristics of Arthropods is that their body is divided into three segments ( head, thorax, abdomen ). Their body symmetry is bilateral. They also have appendages that are jointed. I find the ladybug interesting because of their colour and they are a sign of goodluck.

Earthworm Dissection

This was the earthworm dissection for the phylum Annelida. I found this lab interesting because we had to do cutting really precisely because if we didn't we would cut into the digestive tract.
